Got Power?

Ephesians 3:20 Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
Sometimes we may wonder, where is God's great power today?
If you are a Christian today then you should have God's POWER working in you. God wants you to take His awesome power with you everywhere you go. Look at what Luke 10:19-20 says: Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
WOW!
Sometimes we feel trapped by what is taking place around us in the world today. Here are some Verses that should not only lift you up, but also allow you to Glory in God and understand that we behold more power than anything the enemy may throw our way.
So today it is time to stand up and rejoice! Why rejoice? Because you have the POWER to. Because your name is written in Heaven.

May God Bless,
Sammy

VBS

Our Church as been gearing up for Vacation Bible School over the past few weeks and here we are ready to begin this week. Vacation Bible School is always been an exciting time of year for me. I remember growing up and always so excited when it was time for VBS at Wintergreen OFWB Church. It was always fun and I still remember some of those Bible verses that our teachers made us learn during those weeks. Now in the Ministry VBS holds alot of value to me as well. We have been taking the Church Van out latley inviting kids to come, hopefully we will bring many kids this week. Please pray that the kids will come and they will obey God throughout the week.
Our Memory Verse this week is Joshua 1:9 it says Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
When I read this Verse I began to think of Gideon in the Book of Judges. How Gideon going into war began with 32,000 soldiers. But God had a different plan. God's plan was to bring that 32,000 down to only 300. Gideon stood strong in the Lord. If you will take the time to read Judges Chapter 7, you will see that God always has the best plan.
Many times in our life we want what is best for us. Don't we? But what we need to understand is God always has the best plan for our life because He not only knows what we need today, but He already know what we need tomorrow!
I remember a little saying that states: Let Go and Let God!
Whatever your plan for your life is today you need to let go of it and let God have your entire life.

Do you feel "bound down" in this world?

Daniel 3:23 And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.
24Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonished, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king.
25He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.

Daniel Chapter 3 is one of my favorite parts of the Bible.
Earlier in this same chapter we read that King Nebuchadnezzar made a golden image. He then made a public decree "or order" that everyone had to bow down and worship this image. If they did not do as the king stated they would be thrown into the fiery furnace. This is where Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego comes into place. They were found not bowing and worshiping this idol.
We read in verse 18 that they told the king they would serve not his "gods". These three young men knew what their punishment would be if they didn't. But they also knew that God could deliver them out of any situation the king place them in.
So King Nebuchadnezzar full of fury demanded that these men be thrown in the furnace, but he was so angry he also demanded that the furnace was to be heated 7 times hotter than ever before. We read in verse 22 that the flames were so hot it slew the men that threw Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego into the furnace.
Then we get into the really good part! To most people the life of verse 23 would seem to have no hope. Here they are not only thrown into this hot furnace but the Bible says they fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace. I am so glad this is not the end of the story.
You may be reading this blog and thinking about how hard your life is. You may feel that you are in a hopeless situation. We have all been there. But it doesn't have to end there! For we look again at verse 24. Now old king is astonished. Why? Because he sees how great our God is! He just couldn't comprehend what in the world was going on. Look at the things he sees:
1. Instead of 3 men there are now 4!
2. No one was bound up anymore, all 4 men are loose!
3. They were walking in the midst of the fire!
4. They have no hurt!
5. And then the greatest moment yet. He says that fourth man IS LIKE THE SON OF GOD!

Whatever your personal fiery furnace is. Jesus wants and desires to be right there with you. You may be bound down with the feeling of no escape. Jesus wants to lift you up and walk with you today.
